Against Abstract Categories: Reclaiming Particular Identities in a Universalist System

A few notes on Dr. Ricardo Duchesne’s piece:

‘Why the West is Replacing Its White Population: The Imperatives (and Fatal Flaws) of Post-Fordism’ (https://reiners.org.uk/why-the-west-is-replacing-its-historic-population-the-post-fordist-trap/)

In this article Duchesne correctly diagnoses two core truths:

1)Liberalism is a direct outgrowth of Christianity.
2)The West has systematically destroyed ethnic particularism in favor of universalist ethics.

He quotes the key historical fact:

“All human societies, including pre-liberal Western societies, were based on particularistic, kin-based ethics (in which kin members are treated differently from outsiders).”

Yet Duchesne ultimately pins the blame on industrialization and ‘Post-Fordism’ as the primary mechanisms that dismantled these kin-based systems. This is where the analysis stops short. The factory floor and the assembly line are not the root cause; they are merely the material consequences of a much older disruption. Post-Fordism requires an economic model where human beings are completely interchangeable, liquid, and stripped of local allegiances. But an economic system cannot create that type of human out of thin air—it requires an underlying cultural operating system that has already declared organic, tribal boundaries to be morally obsolete.

That operating system is secularized Christianity itself. Long before the advent of the modern corporation, the Church established the metaphysical blueprint for globalism by dissolving particularistic kin-bonds in favor of a borderless community of believers. Christianity spent 1,000 years domesticating Europe. By the time the Enlightenment arrived, the work was already done. This universalist drive simply sublimated into the bureaucratic state and the global market. It flattened everything distinct into one grey, guilt-soaked blob turning organic European ethnicities into an interchangeable administrative monolith designed for easy economic manipulation.

To deconstruct this administrative matrix, the abstract category must be dismantled from within through a return to ethnic particularism. This requires a pivot away from the modern, bureaucratic classifications of ‘White’ or ‘European’ and a reclamation of sharp, unapologetic loyalty to the actual subgroup. Whether Italian, Polish, German, or Breton, aligning strictly with one’s bloodline acts as a defensive boundaries against the universalist operating system.

Neo-Christianity: Why Broad Labels Keep You Trapped

The Church sought to dissolve organic tribal boundaries to forge a single, borderless community of believers—transcending the ancient world through the doctrine of “neither Jew nor Greek”—modern Leftism operates on an identical universalist impulse. It demands the systematic dissolution of distinct historical, cultural, and ethnic identities in favor of an abstract, global humanity.

As the metaphysics of the Church receded, the historical concept of “Christendom” was simply re-coded into the secular, bureaucratic monolith of “Whiteness”. This structural inheritance manifests across the contemporary political spectrum:

The structure is identical. Only the vocabulary changed.

Every comment starts with the ritual disclaimer (“as a white person”), then the speaker crowns themselves spokesperson/representitive/ambassador for every European subgroup and performs piety by throwing ohter people they label “white” under the bus. This is the ritual of public penance. When a progressive “White” person starts a sentence with “As a white person…” and self-flagellates, they are practicing the secularized equivalent of confession and public testimony.

In Christianity, the ascetic or the self-flagellating monk achieved a higher moral status than the ordinary peasant. Similarly, the progressive elite uses self-hatred as a tool to gain moral dominance over other members of their in-group. They aren’t throwing their group under the bus out of genuine humility; they are doing it to establish a moral hierarchy where they sit at the top.

The Strategy of Deconstruction: Atomization and Particularism

To exercise total control over a population, a universalist system must first strip individuals of their organic, defensive legalities and local historical contexts. This process began with the early Church’s mandate to dissolve organic tribal boundaries in favor of a borderless community of believers. The modern state simply inherited this machinery, swapping theological categories for administrative ones. By forcing vastly different European ethnic groups into a single, artificial category called “White”, the system successfully strips them of their particularity and renders them legible to centralized administration.

However, you can deconstruct this system by simply identifying with your ethnic subtype:

You exit the guilt matrix instantly.

Most importantly, no other European will ever again think of themself as your spokesperson/representative/ambassador, nor the the judge of your behavior relative to their set commandments of white behavior.

It’s just one specific tribe doing what every other tribe does openly and without apology. Then tribal advocacy becomes morally defensible because it is liberated from the manufactured pathology of the universalist matrix.

Speaking the Language of Delineation

Refuse the label “white”. Every single time.

Two instant superpowers:

  1. All minority civil-rights protections now apply to you: “I’m Celto-Germanic, not White” → sue the employer or college forcing you into the White checkbox.

  2. Every self-appointed White spokesperson loses all power: HR drones, DEI deans, politicians, academics — their entire moral authority comes from representing “Whiteness”. Would a self-identified “White” person try to speak on behalf of, or judge the behavior of, an Italian. Polish. German. Breton, if they did not share that ancestry? Atomize and they’re suddenly talking to no one.

Caveat: This only works if you actually identify with the subtype. “White” drags you straight back into the cancer.

Counter-script when they pull the “as a White person” move:

Then even introduce class and materialism as the final disruption. For example, the moral policing system depends on gatekeepers controlling the category of representation. “Whiteness” serves a critical function for the ruling class: it prevents class solidarity. If you shift the frame to class, they have no special standing. A politician, university administrator, or professor has zero authority to speak for working-class interests—they’re the class enemy regardless of their ethnicity.

Conclusion

Ethnic particularism does not require liking your fellow Europeans or feeling any broad kinship with them. It is modular, conditional, and narrowly ethnic: you advocate for your specific people—or your own ancestral mix, such as Celto-Germanic or Anglo-Slavic. In this sense, ethnic particularism is precisely what defeats universalism’s grip (appointed representatives and internal moral police). You advocate for your specific group’s interests because you occupy that structural position and it serves your material outcomes.

But the true destination of this deconstruction is the restoration of classical liberalism: the only political tradition that actually opposes institutional tyranny. Classical liberalism’s core principle is simple—and radical: the individual, not the collective, not the institution, not the credentialed gatekeepers, is the irreducible unit of moral and political life. This means no one—no DEI bureaucrat, no progressive priesthood, no institutional authority—gets unilateral power to define your identity, judge your character, or police your speech based on group membership.
